Grasscloth and specialty wallpaper installation
Grasscloth, sisal, silk and cork are natural materials. They stain from paste, show seams by nature and vary in shade from roll to roll. We install them with the care they need.

In short
- Visible seams are normal for grasscloth: we plan where they fall.
- Shade can vary between rolls, so we check and order the strips first.
- Paste on the face stains, so we work clean and fast.
- Not suited to wet areas such as full bathrooms.
What is included
- Roll inspection for shade and batch
- Strip order planned to blend shade changes
- Wall prep and primer, liner when the manufacturer requires it
- Clean paste handling
- Seams placed away from focal points where possible

What to expect from grasscloth
Grasscloth is woven from natural fibers, so each strip looks slightly different and the seams stay visible. That is part of its character, not a defect. What an installer controls is where the seams fall and how the shade flows from strip to strip.
Where grasscloth works best
Dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, offices and powder rooms with good ventilation are ideal. We advise against grasscloth in full bathrooms, kitchens behind the sink and other areas that get splashed, because water stains natural fibers.
What affects the price
Every quote is written after we see the walls or photos of them. These are the things that move the number:
- Material: grasscloth, sisal, silk, cork or metallic
- Whether a liner paper is required
- Wall prep needed
- Room size and number of seams
- Ceiling height and access

FAQ
Common questions
Why can I see the seams in grasscloth?
Natural fibers cannot be pattern-matched like printed paper, so seams are always visible. Good installation keeps them straight and tight and places them where they draw the least attention.
Can grasscloth go in a bathroom?
We recommend it only for powder rooms with no shower. Steam and splashes stain natural fibers. For full bathrooms, a vinyl grasscloth look-alike is a better choice.
Do you work with interior designers?
Yes, often. We review samples and quantities with the designer before install day.
